I admit it. I look at the My Creative Scrapbook design team gallery sometimes and think - "hay I didn't get that in my kit" or "where the heck is that?". Amazingly the products are really in the kit! The design team is so creative with the products they are given that they are sometimes hard to recognize. I thought I'd share some of my not so secret tips on how I created my layouts this month. My first layout features my son, Charlie. I created my own chalkboard looking background using a piece of black cardstock, a white gel pen, white ink pad, and the rub-ons from the kit. I just drew a boarder around the cardstock using my gel pen then added some ink on the edges. A few other white lines around my rub on and I had a chalkboard background. A couple other notes on this page; I tore apart one of my flowers so part of it is used on this page. I also created the small flowers using a flower punch. Lastly, I did add some of my own red twine.

February is a short but busy month. Here in Missouri we just had a major snow storm. My boys spent the last 3 days playing outside as long as I'd let them but it is so cold I hate to let them out there. Today we struggled to reach 10 F. I am very ready for spring. My boys are headed back to school tomorrow so things are getting back to normal - just in time for the weekend. If you haven't checked out the My Creative Scrapbook February design team and kit reveal it is up and ready for your viewing. I love these kits! Sometimes February can be a tough month for me to scrap with 3 boys. I think you'll find a good mix of reds and pinks and blacks in these kits. So head over to the website, www.mycreativescrapbook.com to view all the design teams's creations. The Main kit features Crate Paper Love Notes mixed with a bit of Pebbles. You are sure to like this one.
