Hello and Happy Monday,
Have you visited the My Creative Sketches blog in the last few days?  It is time for a new monthly challenge.  Remember it is a random draw for the prize so all you have to do is play for a chance to win.
Here is the prize:

Layouts are due by March 16th.  I hope you will play along!  Let me know if you do so I can be sure to check out your layout!

I have to admit I'm a big scrap lifter - probably the reason I started subscribing to the creative kit at My Creative Scrapbook.  I think many people have the same thoughts as I do, I'm just not that creative.  I've come to understand that most scrapbookers are scraplifters in some form.  We all need inspiration either from a sample layout to a sketch or even a word or color that drives us to create.
When I started designing kits for The Scrapbook Boutique, my local scrapbook store, I had to stop scraplifting everything and start creating.  I still scraplift but sometimes I find inspiration and make it my own.  So I might find a layout or a sketch that I like and then I turn it in to my own creation.  It might be that I like the papers or the colors or the number of photos or even the title.  It all drives me to create.  The biggest motivator though is my pictures and my interest.  I still find it intimidating to share my work on  I wonder if my work will measure up to the esteem I hold the design team members in.  I take it as a new challenge though.  It is fun to do some new things.  I hope you enjoy my take on the sketches and I can't wait to share some of my new adventures in scrapbooking with you.

So without further adieu, here is the new sketch challenge:
And here is my interpretation:

I have to admit I love my layout!  How could I not love it with these cute pictures of my son Chase from Valentines Day 2009 and the awesome Crate Paper from February's Main Kit at

Check back in a few days and I'll share a tutorial with you on how I created the background for this layout.  It is the first of many self challenges being a design team member for My Creative Sketches has brought me.

Have a great week,

Hello and Happy Sunday.
I am pleased to be a new designer for My Creative Sketches.  The January sketch was my first go at it and I was very nervous.  I think My Creative Sketches and My Creative Scrapbook have have awesome design teams and I just hope to measure up.  You should check them out.  I've subscribed to the Creative kit for 2 years now and the hardest part is keeping up with it.  The next months kit always arrives before I'm finished with the current month - I can usually make 5-8 layouts with each kit.
Here at the links to the two websites: and

Back to the sketches:
First, let me show you the prize - they are always amazing!  It is a random draw too!

Now for the sketch:

Here is my layout created using the sketch.  My layout is a pretty close interpretation of the original sketch.  Check out the blog, to view other design team members work as well as join the fun.

If you want to play along post your link on the My Creative Sketches blog by February 14th.  Then, check back on the 15th to see if you are the winner.

Hello, my name is Joan Bronson.  I’ve been married to my high school sweet heart, Matt, for almost 14 years.  We have three very active boys ages 7, 5, and 3.  Besides keeping up with my boys and our home, I travel to employers offices to explain benefits and assist in the enrollment process for employees.  Lastly, I teach classes and make page kits at my local scrapbooking store.

In high school I made my own version of a smash book but my true addiction to scrapbooking began in 1999 when I was invited to my first scrapbooking party.  My scrapbooking style has changed over the years just like my family.  I relive each memory as I scrap the photos.  I also NEED scrapbooking.  With three little boys in the house I love escaping to the scrapbook store to scrap with my girl friends.
