Have you visited the My Creative Sketches blog in the last few days?  It is time for a new monthly challenge.  Remember it is a random draw for the prize so all you have to do is play for a chance to win.

I have to admit I'm a big scrap lifter - probably the reason I started subscribing to the creative kit at My Creative Scrapbook.  I think many people have the same thoughts as I do, I'm just not that creative.  I've come to understand that most scrapbookers are scraplifters in some form.  We all need inspiration either from a sample layout to a sketch or even a word or color that drives us to create.
When I started designing kits for The Scrapbook Boutique, my local scrapbook store, I had to stop scraplifting everything and start creating.  I still scraplift but sometimes I find inspiration and make it my own.  So I might find a layout or a sketch that I like and then I turn it in to my own creation.  It might be that I like the papers or the colors or the number of photos or even the title.  It all drives me to create.  The biggest motivator though is my pictures and my interest.  I still find it intimidating to share my work on mycreativesketches.blogspot.com.  I wonder if my work will measure up to the esteem I hold the design team members in.  I take it as a new challenge though.  It is fun to do some new things.  I hope you enjoy my take on the sketches and I can't wait to share some of my new adventures in scrapbooking with you.

I have to admit I love my layout!  How could I not love it with these cute pictures of my son Chase from Valentines Day 2009 and the awesome Crate Paper from February's Main Kit at mycreativescrapbook.com.   

Check back in a few days and I'll share a tutorial with you on how I created the background for this layout.  It is the first of many self challenges being a design team member for My Creative Sketches has brought me.
